High school basketball: Westside boys and Josey girls head to state title match

Westside and Josey are heading to Macon Thursday after winning their semifinal games Saturday at Georgia College in Milledgeville.

The two-time state champions Westside boys team secured a spot in the 2A final after beating Columbia 70-59. The Patriots will take on Toombs County Thursday, March 7. Toombs County defeated Butler 47-42.

In the girls’ division, Josey will go up against Mount Paran Christian after defeating Central (Macon) 45-38. It’s the second time in three years that the Lady Eagles have gone to the 2A title game.
