The Harlem Bulldogs hosted their annual Diamond Day beating cross county rivals Lakeside and Evans in a doubleheader while boosters sold barbecue dinner plates to support the baseball team.
Harlem defeated Lakeside handily 12-2 in the first game, scoring seven runs in the fifth inning.
The second game would be a little different as the Bulldogs had their hands full with the 11-1 Evans Knights.
After a few passed balls, Evans would lead 3-2 in the top of the third inning.
A couple of hits and walks would push the Bulldogs back ahead 5-2 after three full innings.
Down 7-4 in the top of the seventh inning, Charlie Bates hit a RBI double off the fence and cut the score to 7-5. The Knights would score again after walking in a run, but failed to take advantage with 2 outs and the bases loaded.
Harlem now moves to 10-3 and Evans is 11-2 on the season. The Bulldogs will travel to Cross Creek for their next game on Tuesday, March 10. Evans will travel to county rival also on Tuesday.
