Gold Creek Foods donates chicken to Augusta University

On Oct. 8, Gold Creek Foods joined Hurricane Helene relief efforts by donating fully cooked, breaded chicken breasts strips to Augusta University.

“Augusta University distributed the products not only to the students, faculty and staff of the university but also to hospital employees and the community in need after the hurricane,” said Craig Goodman, Controller-Non-Ops, with Gold Creek Foods, Gainesville, Ga., according to a news release.

“This donation has made a meaningful impact, supporting our students, faculty, staff, hospital employees and the broader community,” said Augusta University President Russell Keen in statement posted to Instagram thanking Gold Creek as well as Jim Syfan, CEO of Gainesville-based Syfan Logistics and member of the University System of Georgia Board of Regents. “Their kindness has eased the burden for so many and serves as a reminder of the power of generosity.”

Gold Creek Foods is one of the largest full-service chicken further processors in the U.S., specializing in a variety of products for many industry leaders, national accounts, foodservice and retail chains, the news release said.

“At Gold Creek, we believe in fostering a sense of community among our employees and our customers as well as extending that cooperative spirit to our neighbors,” said Mark Sosebee, Gold Creek Foods Founder & CEO. “It was a blessing for us to collaborate with some of our valued partners to help those most in need.”
