Everybody cut loose this weekend with Aiken Community Theatre as it presents “Footloose.”
Based on the 1984 film starring Kevin Bacon, the 1998 musical follows Ren McCormack, a teen transplanted from Chicago to a small Midwestern town, where dancing and rock music are illegal. As he struggles to fit in, Ren faces an uphill battle to change things.
With the help of his new friend, Willard Hewitt, and defiant teen Ariel Moore, he might loosen up this conservative town. But Ariel’s influential father, the Rev. Shaw Moore, stands in the way.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. May 16-17 and 2 p.m. May 18. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, by calling (803) 648-1438, or by clicking here.
