The annual Trees for Troops event and Christmas Festival rang in the holiday season at Barton Field Dec. 5.

In its 20th year, Trees for Troops provided about 300 donated Christmas trees for service members and their families.

The tree lighting ceremony followed 5:30 p.m. with holiday carols, the lighting of the installation Christmas tree and the arrival of Santa Claus for pictures. Other festivities included Kris Kringle Vendor Village, a bonfire, a hayride thru holiday themed displays, photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus, kid’s crafts, sponsor giveaways and complimentary cookies and cocoa.

Trees For Troops provided about 15,000 trees for service members this year. Fort Eisenhower received about 300 trees. David Logsdon/ Fort Eisenhower Public Affairs
