Eggs Up Grill to open first of four area restaurants in Evans in December

A new breakfast, brunch, lunch restaurant plans to open in December in Evans.

Eggs Up Grill has signed a four-location development agreement with father-daughter duo Clarissa and Alvin Knotts. The agreement is part of Eggs Up Grill’s rapid new restaurant growth as it is quickly becoming the largest franchised, full-service better breakfast concept in the U.S. marketplace, according to a news release The first location is slated to open in December at the Shoppes at Evans Towne Park, 1200 Towne Park Lane, with others to follow in North Augusta, Augusta and Aiken.

With indoor seating for 86 people and outdoor seating for 20, the 2,380 square-foot restaurant is designed to make guests feel at home in a light, bright and cheery atmosphere. The restaurant will serve guests seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., with dine-in, online ordering, takeout, catering and delivery options available. 

Clarissa Knotts, who is relocating to the area from South Carolina, has been a registered nurse for the last 17 years and is also an anesthetist. She will continue practicing in the medical field while her fiancé, Kevin Patrick, operates the restaurants. Her father is the owner of Knotts Funeral Home in Swansea, South Carolina, and will act as an investor and mentor in the business, the release continued.

“This is an opportunity to build generational wealth for my children, and to be able to own a business that makes me feel proud about what I’m serving and providing,” said Clarissa Knotts in the news release. “Eggs Up Grill offers great food that anyone can afford, in a family-oriented environment, and there is something on the menu for everyone. I look forward to getting to know my neighbors and serving the best breakfast, brunch and lunch in town.”  

Knotts added that a big part of her decision was the support that the Eggs Up Grill Brand provides to its franchisees. She said the accessibility to the CEO and leadership team spoke volumes and made her feel even more confident about the investment, the news release continued.

Eggs Up Grill will serve its full menu open to close. Signature menu items include the founder’s recipe corned beef hash with potatoes, onions and special spices, as well as made-to-order omelets, buttery, grilled blueberry muffins, classic breakfast dishes, croissant-style donuts and lunch selections including burgers, melts, salads and more. Eggs Up Grill also caters events big or small, with a menu featuring breakfast favorites like eggs, grits, home fries, biscuits and gravy and muffins. Salads and sandwiches are available for catered lunch, the news release said.
