Easter egg hunts, festivities planned for April 19

Springtime brings festivities such as Easter egg hunts and other outdoor festivities.

Here are several events planned for the young and young at heart on April 19

The North Augusta Optimist Club’s annual egg hunt will begin at 10 a.m. April 19 at Lions Memorial Field.

In addition to the egg hunt, there will be games and a visit by the Easter Bunny.

The Columbia County Easter Egg Scramble will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 19 at Patriots Park.

The event will include Easter egg hunts, a photo op with the Easter Bunny and a showing of “Peter Rabbit 2.”

An Easter Eggstravaganza will be from 6 to 8 p.m. April 19 at the Salvation Army Kroc Center.

Children can dive into the pool for a floating egg hunt, plus enjoy Easter-themed arts and crafts, bounce houses, games and an egg drop competition. The event is designed for children between the ages of 2 and 12.

The cost is $10 per child for guests and $7 per child for Kroc Center members.

The fifth annual Harlem Hoppening will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Saturday, April 19 at Harlem City Park. Sponsored by Impact Church, the free event includes food, bounce houses, face painting, giveaways and Easter egg hunts.

Ten thousand eggs will be part of an Easter event from 2 to 5 p.m. April 19 at Warren Road Community Center.

Hosted by Monarch Real Estate Team and Warren Road Community Center, there will be bounce houses, train rides, food trucks and vendors as well as egg hunts for adults and children. For more information, go here.

Other Richmond County egg hunts will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the Carrie Mays Family Life Center and the Sand Hills Community Center and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Henry Brigham Community Center.

VFW Post 12190, 4290 Triangle Industrial Court, will host a children’s Easter party from noon to 3 p.m. with an egg hunt, craft corner, games and prizes.

For the grown-ups, Bike Bike Baby will combine a ride through downtown with an adult egg hunt from 8 to 10 p.m. April 19.  To learn more, go here.   

Not to forget the fur babies, Aiken’s Downtown Dog will host its Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Bonnet Contest at 4 p.m. April 19. There will be treats and prizes. A $10 donation will benefit Hitchcock Woods Foundation.
