CSRA Heart Walk planned for March 27

More than 2,000 people are expected to turn out for the American Heart Association’s 2026 CSRA Heart Walk on March 27.

The event focuses on equipping the community with Hands-Only CPR skills to help turn bystanders into lifesavers.

Local business leaders, American Heart Association volunteers, and heart disease and stroke survivors are among the participants.

The event will kickoff at SRP Park with gates opening at 5 p.m., a ceremony at 5:45 p.m. and the walk starting at 6 p.m.

Each year, more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of a hospital, and nearly 90% are fatal, according to a news release from the American Heart Association. Immediate bystander CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival. The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s largest community initiative, raising funds for lifesaving research while expanding access to CPR education and improving health outcomes for all.

To register, visit csraheartwalk.org and start a fundraising page and take part in the Lifesaver Challenge — including learning Hands-Only CPR in just 90 seconds.
