Creative Impressions to bring holiday sounds Dec. 21 with 2024 ‘Behold the Star’

It’s an Augusta Christmas tradition, and it’s back on Dec. 21.

Creative Impressions brings its “Behold the Star” production to the Augusta University Maxwell Theatre at 7 p.m. Saturday.

It’s the youth ensemble’s largest performance of the year and holds a special place in the hearts of many people, especially its alumni who often sing during the holiday production.

Performing in “Behold the Star” is something alumni look forward to. Brittany Hatcher graduated from the group in 2011 but doesn’t pass up an opportunity to sing with the group, according to a 2022 Augusta Good News article.

“It’s like coming home and visiting my family,” she said at the time.

Founded in 1996, Creative Impressions is a vocal ensemble for children between the ages of 12 and 18. It’s directed by Trey McLaughlin who grew up singing with the group.

The group has become multi-generational with alumni parents performing with the children at the holiday season.

Tickets are $25, with discounts for senior adults and groups of 10 or more. Go here for tickets.

“Your support empowers youth – every seat sold contributes to our mission,” the Creative Impressions’ website said.
