Kelly Ink admires golfer John Daly for being his own person on and off the golf course.
“He’s not the typical golfer. He’s himself. He’s fun. He’s the kind of guy you’d want to hang out with,” said Kelly Ink, who along with her fiancé Steven McCorvey, went to Topgolf Thursday to meet the golfer, take photos and give him something.
“A save the date for our wedding,” said McCorvey.
The Augusta area couple are planning a Dec. 12 wedding.
While the golfer didn’t make any commitment either way, they are hopeful he will come.

Daly’s Masters’ tradition has included meeting with his fans after tournament hours. His old stomping ground was Hooters, which was closed and razed over the past year.
Topgolf was one of the locations stepping up to offer a place for him to hold a meet and greet. He will be on site from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday as well.
“This was something we couldn’t pass up and we’re hoping it will be a great relationship. He’s a beloved figure in Augusta,” said Sean Frantom, manager of sales and community engagement.
The location opened in July 2020, but the word is still getting out about the business.

“A lot of people have never been to Topgolf,” he said.
The meet-and-greet was an opportunity to show off the brand at a national level.
While some people were there to meet John Daly, others practiced their golf swings or played a round of mini golf as well as sampled some of the special items on the menu this week while watching highlights from the tournament.

Pimento cheese, peach ice cream cookie skillet and azalea-themed cocktails are among the menu highlights this week only. Topgolf also featured Good Boy Vodka’s John Daly cocktails during Thursday’s event.
Other special promotions include a “green ball” surprise for players April 10–12. Players who receive a green golf ball during game play will be eligible for prizes including limited-edition t-shirts, hats and leather head covers.
