Columbia County names finalists for 2025-2026 Teacher of Year

The Columbia County School District will hold its annual Teacher of the Year Celebration at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Columbia County Exhibition Center, Grovetown.

The top five finalists are Jona Gaskin, Westmont Elementary School; Kirsten Matthis, Evans High School; Lauren O’Neil, Cedar Ridge Elementary School; Tiffany Tanner, Parkway Elementary School; and
Nancy Morris, Columbia Middle School, according to a news release.

Each school’s Teacher of the Year, including the top five finalists, will be recognized and
awarded a variety of gifts at the Oct. 2 event. The winning Teacher of the Year will go on to represent the
Columbia County School District at the state level.

The presentation of awards and announcement of the winner will be livestreamed beginning at
6:30 p.m., at http://bit.ly/ccsdlive.
