Celtic Angels to bring an Irish Christmas to Evans Dec. 20

Join the Celtic Angels for a festive Irish Christmas ceilidh at the Hardin Auditorium in the Columbia County Library Saturday, Dec. 20.

“’Celtic Angels Christmas’ is a joyous celebration from start to finish, encompassing vocal and instrumental Holiday and Irish favourites,” according to its website.

The vocalists are paired with Irish champion dancers, the Celtic Knights, some of whom have performed in London’s West End and on Broadway, and accompanied by the Trinity Ensemble for a full blown on stage party.

“It’s so social at Christmas. We want to celebrate that feeling. A few things we tend to do are specific to Dublin,” said Dublin, Ireland native and Celtic Angels founder, Louise Barry, in a 2022 Augusta Good News article.

The audience doesn’t have to simply watch the fun; sometimes, Barry draws them in to be part of the festivities.

“I do tend to make a demand on the audience,” she said. “I do ask for participation.”

Several locals will be part of the show as well.

The new director of Celtic Angels, Sarah Hyland operates the Sarah Costello Irish Dance Academy USA which has a Georgia Chapter in the CSRA. The dancers will have a special performance at the 4 p.m. show.

The Celtic Angels will bring the Christmas joy with two shows at 4 and 7:30 p.m. For tickets, go here.
