‘Tis the season for holiday traditions. “The Nutcracker” ballet is a Christmas favorite with three dance companies bringing it to life in November and December.
Dracula: Ballet with a Bite! will be performed at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17.
“Cinderella” will be performed Saturday at the Columbia Counthyy Performing Arts Center.
At 7 p.m. Saturday, Colton Ballet Company will present “Float” at the Imperial Theatre.
The World Ballet Company brings “The Great Gatsby” to the Miller Theater on April 26.
SHARP Dance Company will present “669” at USC Aiken on April 22. That represents the number of children Britain’s Sir Nicholas Winton saved from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia in 1939 prior to the start of World War II.
The South Carolina Ballet will perform “Off the Wall and Onto the Stage: Dancing the Art of Jonathan Green” at 7:30 p.m. March 13 at the Miller Theater as a fundraiser for the Morris Museum of Art.
Christopher R. Wilson, a a 2013 John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School graduate, will perform at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Feb. 12-16.
Riverdance 30 – the New Generation, will be at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center on Feb.14.
Carrie Petrak Preus, who began taking ballet under Ron and Kathleen Jones, will return to dance with her former company on Dec. 6.
