More coffee is coming to Augusta’s western corridor.
A former Checkers’ hamburger stand on Washington Road has traded its red façade for the blue of Caribou Coffee. Work crews recently installed signage.
Located near Interstate 20 at 3050 Washington Road, the location will offer drive-thru and walk-up service.
According to the Caribou Coffee website, the shop will open soon and is currently hiring. Check the website here for hiring information.

Caribou Coffee, a Panera Brands company, celebrated 30 years of business in 2022. Founders John and Kim Puckett opened the doors of the first Caribou Coffee in Edina, Minnesota, on Dec. 14, 1992, with a vision to be known for the best personalized service in the coffeehouse industry, according to the website.
With more than 400 locations nationwide, Caribou Coffee offers handcrafted beverages and an all-day menu including gluten-free, vegetarian and plant-based items. The website doesn’t give a specific opening date. A second shop at 1029 Edgefield Rd. in North Augusta is also slated to open soon.
