Battle of the Border 2025: North Augusta beats Grovetown in overtime

The final game of the Battle of the Border tournament lived up to its name Saturday at Lakeside High School with North Augusta taking on Grovetown.

It was a close battle from the start with the Yellow Jackets narrowly ahead at halftime 26-23 and 38-36 after the third quarter.

Grovetown pulled ahead 46-44 with 1:30 left in the game. North Augusta evened the score and the game went into OT with the score 46-46.

The Yellow Jackets controlled the OT period and ended the game 56-49.

North Augusta remains undefeated at 11-0 and Grovetown falls to 9-4. Grovetown will play Rockdale County Tuesday, Jan. 7 in Conyers while North Augusta will travel to play Aiken High School Tuesday.

The Battle of the Border tournament was a daylong tournament featuring teams from Georgia and South Carolina. Other games included Butler over Keenan. Go here for that game.
