Brown’s newest book is “Batman and Robin and Howard: Summer Breakdown.”

Hosting a Q&A with Brown at The Book Tavern at 7 p.m. Friday is local author and Batman fan, Brian Panowich. Budding graphic novelists are welcome to this kid-friendly event, according to The Book Tavern’s website.

The Annual Star Wars Reads Day will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

“The library’s Star Wars Reads encourages readers to explore works that will allow them to use their imagination to send them to a galaxy far, far away,” according to a news release.

The Star Wars Reads event will feature book giveaways and free commemorative prints. Other activities include arts and crafts, trivia, a costume parade and a silent auction of Star Wars-inspired art. No registration is required.
