AU’s Pinillos finishes 36th at NCAA golf regionals

NORMAN, Okla. – After not being able to complete the final round on Tuesday, Augusta University’s Zoe Pinillos, and the rest of the field, finished up their final few holes Wednesday morning in the Norman, Oklahoma Regional. Pinillos had six holes to play and ended up with a 4-over par 76 for a 36th-place finish.

Pinillos posted bogies on her first two holes she played Wednesday but did register four straight pars to finish the round. Overall, she shot 76-71-76 to finish at 7-over in her first ever appearance in the NCAA Regional, according to Augusta University Athletics.

Andrea Revuelta of Stanford was medalist at 8-under and the Cardinals also won the team portion of the event.

In her first year of competition for the Jaguars, Pinillos won the Southland Conference Championship in Texas on April 17 to earn her spot in the NCAA Regional and was the SLC Golfer of the Year.
