ArtScape: Oysters on Telfair, openings for Lillie Morris and Chad Cole

A fundraiser and two art openings are scheduled for the first part of November.

Chad Cole’s “Land and Lore” highlights themes that are rooted in Southern landscape and cultural memory according to a news release from CANDL Fine Art.

The exhibition opens Nov. 1 with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m.

“In his paintings, Cole frequently portrays forgotten or abandoned spaces, inviting viewers to reflect on the transient nature of place and time. His use of tone and light heightens the emotional atmosphere of each piece, achieved through layering waxes and glazes,” the news release said.

“I paint because of an unceasing desire to understand, preserve, and process my lived experiences and memories,” Cole said.

The exhibition will be on display through Nov 29.

Lillie Morris will join with Atlanta multimedia artist Roxane Hollosi for an exhibition at the Sacred Heart Cultural Center.

“In my latest series, I have embarked on a personal journey to get reacquainted with red! Each piece vibrates with a variety of shades of red: crimson, vermilion, scarlet and burgundy, bringing a vibrant energy to the forefront. This series features strong shapes and bold, direct brushstrokes, offering what I hope will be a powerful visual and emotive experience,” wrote Lillie Morris about the exhibition which will be from Nov. 4 to Dec. 20.

Hollosi is an Atlanta-based multi-disciplinary artist who is influenced by the ”Native American spiritual sensibilities and respect for the Earth she was exposed to while living there,” according to the Sacred Heart website.
