The Academy of Richmond County remains undefeated through three games after dominating Westside 35-7 on Friday, Sept 4.
“We challenged ourselves to be in the right place at the right time,” said ARC Coach Keenan Grissett. “Don’t try and go play hero ball but trust your brother next to you that he is going to do his job so you can do your job.”

Junior Chase Caldwell put the Musketeers on the board first with a six-yard rushing touchdown with 3:41 left in the first quarter.
The ARC defense was the story of the first half, sacking the quarterback multiple times and forcing turnovers.
Senior running back Jay’Andre Brown managed to stay up on a long 60-yard rushing touchdown. Sophomore kicker William Mohney converted the extra point, making the score 14-0 with 9:41 remaining in the first half.
Westside managed to drive inside ARC territory, but defensive back Carl Butler caught an interception in the endzone as the Patriots remained scoreless in the first half.
The Musketeers running game continued to dominate in the second half as Junior Vincent Carter rushed in two long touchdowns, along with Brown adding one more.
ARC will now have a bye week before traveling on the road for a fourth straight game.
“We deemed ourselves road warriors,” Grissett said. “We take care of business wherever it is because it is going to be a process driven operation no matter where we’re at.”
The Musketeers will travel to Wayne County Friday, Sept. 18.
“The definition of elite is how you handle success,” Grissett said. “The good thing is we have a bye week coming up, but we know the real season is approaching. We are not looking far ahead and are focused on getting coaches rest, players, parents and then once it’s time will be ready to go.”
