Augusta University senior Nasrudin Mohamed has been named the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Year, the league announced ahead of Saturday’s conference championship. Augusta’s Eli Corn was also named to the PBC Men’s Cross Country All-Sportsmanship Team.

Mohamed, a Grovetown High School graduate, posted the fastest 8K time in the Peach Belt this season, clocking 24:32.2 at the UAH Chargers Invitational on Oct. 24. An early-season injury limited him to two appearances this fall, but he finished ahead of every other PBC runner in the field at UAH. He also earned PBC Runner of the Week honors once this season.

The award is nominated and voted on by the league’s coaches based on performances throughout the regular season. A two-time All-PBC honoree, Mohamed finished sixth at last year’s conference championship.

Corn was selected as Augusta’s representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team. Each program selects one student-athlete who exemplifies the conference’s values of sportsmanship and fair play.

The Jaguars will compete in the PBC Championship on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course in Macon, Georgia. Middle Georgia State University will host the meet, with the men’s 8K scheduled for 9 a.m.
