The USA BMX Southeast Gold Cup Championships returned to Columbia County Sept. 25-27.
The three-day competition at Blanchard Woods Park BMX track brought more than 400 racers, along with their families and
supporters, to Columbia County and generate approximately $500,000 in local economic impact, according to a news release from Columbia County.
This is the fifth time the event has been held at Blanchard Woods. The championship was also in Columbia County in 2015, 2018, 2021 and 2024.
The USA BMX Gold Cup Championship Series brings riders in a variety of age groups together from across their respective regions throughout the season, culminating in regional Gold Cup finals where competitors race for the opportunity to earn the prestigious Gold Cup 1, 2 and 3 plates, the release said.
