MARICOPA, Ariz. – After two rounds of the National Golf Invitational, the Augusta men’s golf team remains in ninth place. Grand Canyon has a commanding eight shot lead heading to Sunday’s final round.
Pieter Rossouw Jr. led the Jaguars on Saturday as the team is 1-over-par.
Rossouw shot a 4-under-par 68 on Saturday in a round that featured five birdies, an eagle and three bogeys. He posted a clean scorecard on the back nine with three birdies and his eagle. He is in a tie for 21st place.
Chapman Barnett had the second best Jaguar round on the day with a 70. Barnett rolled home six birdies to go along with four bogeys.
After a solid opening round, Josh Daniels shot a 3-over-par 75. Daniels made a birdie on each nine, but also made five bogeys on the day.
The final score came from Pascal Gunther, who rebounded in a big way and shot 73 on Saturday. Gunther, who shot 79 in the opening round, was six shots better in round two.
Augusta will once again be paired with North Alabama in Sunday’s final round.
