Westobou turns green for WestoHUE fundraiser

Westobou’s annual fundraiser WestoHUE is a monochromatic experience and art auction featuring music, drinks and hors d’oeuvres and will be held on March 27 at the Westobou Gallery.

Ten original works by a diverse group of artists will be auctioned during the event. Attendees are encouraged to wear green to match this year’s theme. Tickets are limited, according to a news release from Westobou.

Ten artists, ranging from emerging to established and who have worked with Westobou in various capacities, have been invited to participate in the monochromatic art auction. Rebecca Anchor, Jason Craig, Franklin Delgado, Abby Edwards, Tiraj Johnson-Garay, April Henry King, Lillie Morris, Aort Reed, Dylan Smeak and Leonard “Porkchop” Zimmerman will each create an original work using the color green

Also, an original oil painting by Philip Morsberger will be featured in this year’s WestoHUE fundraiser on raffle for one lucky supporter. Fittingly, the piece is strikingly green to align with this year’s monochromatic theme.

Guests will enjoy a creatively curated, green-inspired grazing table and signature cocktail, along with beer provided by Savannah River Brewing Co. The event will also feature an envelope wall by Jay Jacobs, where patrons can purchase his creations at various price points ranging from $5–$100. Additional surprises and opportunities to give will be included throughout the evening.

Limited tickets to the WestoHUE fundraiser and art auction are $100, or $80 for Westobou members. Westobou members may email info@westobou.org to receive a discount code. Proceeds from the event directly benefit Westobou and support its mission to empower artists and their ideas while presenting engaging, creative, and thought-provoking artistic experiences for Augusta’s community.

Westobou Gallery will be open to the public from April 3 through May 23, giving the community an opportunity to experience the green-themed gallery installation and purchase available works that remain after the auction.
