GRANITEVILLE — Community members, fashion enthusiasts, and sustainability advocates are invited to attend the RENEW Upcycle & Recycle Fashion Show on at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 7 at Better World Studios, Graniteville, South Carolina.
The event highlights innovative fashion created from recycled and repurposed materials while raising awareness about textile waste in the United States, according to a news release.
The evening will feature a runway fashion show, food, raffle prizes, door prizes, and a vendor marketplace, offering guests an engaging celebration of creativity and sustainability.
The fashion show is the culmination of a six-week fashion design class led by award-winning designer Felina Martin, owner of the sustainable fashion brand Pamoja na. Students and designers will showcase original pieces created using upcycled and recycled materials, the release said.

Featured designers include: Syann Ford, Andi Sinclair, Delicia Green, Tiffany Marsh, Alayna Lee, Lynne Clark, Lydia Bliven and Faye Rains.
During the event, Cynthia Mitchell will be recognized for her philanthropic leadership and service to the community.
In the United States, about 17 million tons of textile waste are generated each year, with about 85% ending up in landfills or incinerators. The RENEW Fashion Show encourages communities to rethink fashion consumption and explore sustainable alternatives such as recycling, reusing, and upcycling clothing.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Better World Studios, whose mission is to foster creative community through the arts for a more expressive, just, and sustainable world.
