The latest sculpture by Przemyslaw Kordys has been placed in its new home.
A school of fish created by the Polish-born artist who has a studio in south Augusta was recently installed at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park.
It joins other Kordys’ sculptures at the park which included an 8-foot-tall heron. Other sculptures at the park include a dragonfly and Chompy the Alligator.

The work was commissioned by Dennis Skelley, who was recently honored by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp for his commitment to the arts, and the Georgia Rehabilitation Institute, which has a mission to provide accessible public art installations.
The GRI building at 523 13th St. is its own piece of public art as every exterior wall is covered by murals.

Other GRI-funded sculptures include Pillars of the Golden Blocks Sculpture, the Spider lily, Iris and Tropical Dream Sculptures.
And more sculptures are on the way including some hydrangeas for Pendleton King Park and a sculpture near the Kroc Center.
