“The Sleeping Beauty is not just a ballet — it’s a living fairytale that reminds us of the beauty, strength, and hope found in love,” said Artem Yachmennikov, Artistic Director of the International Ballet Stars’ tour, and former principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre, San Francisco Ballet and Dutch National Ballet.

International Ballet Stars’ production features 50 dancers, 200 handcrafted costumes and hand-painted sets to tell the classic story of Princess Aurora from her christening and the wicked curse of Carabosse to her century-long slumber and awakening by true love’s kiss, according to a news release.

“Every detail—from the exquisite costumes to the intricate choreography— is designed to captivate audiences and honor the grandeur of classical ballet in its purest form,” the news release said.

This production features the choreography of Marius Petipa with the score of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. “The Sleeping Beauty” was the first collaboration between Petipa and Tchaikovsky. The ballet was performed in 1890 followed by “The Nutcracker” in 1892 and “Swan Lake” in 1895.
