The 27th annual Head of the South Regatta, one of the largest head races in the Southeast, was Nov. 8 in Augusta.
Hosted by the Augusta Rowing Club, the regatta brought male and female high school and collegiate rowers from multiple states to compete on the Savannah River.
According to the Augusta Sports Council, the event drew about 3,000 people for an estimated economic impact of $813,949.08.
