State of Tourism 2025 celebration planned for Nov. 5

Destination Augusta, the Augusta Sports Council and Film Augusta will honor four residents and one local business at the annual Augusta State of Tourism: The Feel Good City celebration on Nov. 5.

The event showcases how tourism continues to fuel Augusta’s growth, vibrancy and quality of life. The program will feature remarks from Bennish Brown, President/CEO of Destination Augusta, and Michelle Pippin, CEO of the Augusta Sports Council, as they highlight Augusta’s 2025 tourism milestones and share what’s ahead for 2026 and beyond, according to a news release.

Also, the Augusta Tourism Awards, honoring the individuals and organizations whose passion continues to elevate Augusta’s visitor experience, will be presented.

Dr. Deanna Brown Thomas and Sean Frantom will receive the President’s Awards; artist Leonard “Porkchop” Zimmerman, will receive the Community Spirit Award; Terrance Williams will receive Film Augusta Partner of the Year; and The Klugo Restaurant Group will receive the Partner of the Year Award.

The program will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 5, at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center.
