Faithwalk Ministries plans Day of Prayer Oct. 25

When Travon Wright founded Faithwalk Ministries in 2023, he had a strategic goal in mind

“My mission is to help unify the body of Christ and bring people into the body,” said Wright, who has hosted a variety of events from walks to concerts and even a Christian movie premiere to achieve that goal.

The next event is CSRA Prays, A Day of Prayer beginning at noon Saturday, Oct. 25, at T. Harry Garrett Elementary School soccer field, 1100 Eisenhower Dr. It will focus on prayer for government leaders as well as area school systems and teachers. There will be a time of worship.

Food trucks will be on site as well.

It’s free, but a ticket is needed. Go here for more information.

The Day of Prayer event is similar to one he’s coordinated in Columbia County for the past couple of years. Like the organization, that event is also called Faith Walk. It includes prayer and live music plus activities for children such as bounce houses. Faith Walk will be held again in December.

The Faith Walk grew last year. The first year it drew 500 people and last year, 800 people attended.

Wright has also brought Christian artists to the area including Canton Jones two years ago. And he’s worked to bring  Grammy-Award winning gospel artist Tye Tribett to the Miller Theater on Nov. 2 .

The organization also hosted an event to feed the homeless in February.
