Inspiring: Women of Augusta, under the umbrella of Augusta Good News launched in November 2023 to provide stories of inspiration highlighting women and girls who are making a difference in the community.
From teachers to artists to business leaders to athletes and even an astronaut, women from all walks of life have graced the award-winning magazines with their stories.

Sponsored by the Georgia Rehabilitation Institute, Augusta Good News and Inspiring: Women of Augusta Magazine, the inaugural Inspiring: Women Awards will be held Sept. 25 to recognize women for their contributions.
Six awards will be presented at a luncheon at Flowing Wells Theatre. Tickets are limited. Individual tickets are $40 with a group of eight for $275. Food Thyme will cater the lunch, and 4P Studios has created the awards.
The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Lisa Maddox.
A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and retired physician, Maddox has a closet full of hardware – medals from national and international competitions from an array of sports.
An amputee, Maddox has excelled in wheelchair tennis, curling, rugby, pickleball and softball. At the 2025 Veterans’ Wheelchair Games, she received gold in slalom (obstacle course), shot put, discus, javelin and table tennis, silver in softball and bronze in air rifle.
Her goal is to compete in the Paralympics.
