The Aiken Community Theatre brings a musical comedy to the stage for its 2025-2026 season opener.
Set in 1907 London, “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” will be performed for two weekends beginning Sept. 5.

The production centers on “Monty Navarro, a penniless clerk who is informed after the death of his mother that he is ninth in line to inherit the earldom of Highhurst, controlled by the wealthy D’Ysquith banking family,” according to a news release from the Aiken Community Theatre.

Then, the eight heirs in front of Monte start dying in natural and unnatural ways, and Monte finds himself in the center of a love triangle.
“A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” is “about ambition, love, family, and intricate murder plots will have you gasping with laughter and reveling in its lively, imaginative score. This merry musical is guaranteed to lift your spirits,” the news release said.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 5-6, 12-13 and at 2 p.m. Sept. 7. For tickets, go here.
