2025 CSRA Walk for Water set for Nov. 8

The 2025 CSRA Walk for Water will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8 at SRP Park, bringing together participants from both sides of the Savannah River to raise awareness and funds for the global water crisis.

This annual event supports Water Mission, a nonprofit organization that provides safe, sustainable water solutions worldwide. Every $50 raised supplies clean water to one person for a year, according to the news release.

“Each step we take helps transform lives,” said Jeff Kertscher, CSRA Walk for Water spokesperson. “When our community comes together to walk for water, we’re not only raising funds — we’re walking in solidarity with the millions of people who make this journey every day.”

Walkers will carry buckets of water on a three-mile route to simulate the daily journey millions make to collect water in developing countries. Gates open at 8 a.m. with the walk starting at 9:30 a.m. — rain or shine, the release said.

The event welcomes individuals, families, schools, churches, and companies eager to make a difference. Registration is free and can be completed online at csrawalkforwater.org.

Water Mission is a Christian engineering nonprofit that has provided clean water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions to over 8 million people worldwide since 2001. It operates in developing countries and disaster zones. Since its founding, Water Mission has helped more than 8 million people across more than 60 countries and has received Charity Navigator’s top four-star rating for 19 consecutive years.
